I heard today that Sportsmen's Warehouse is no longer honoring gift cards in Washington just to let you know.

 >:(

Yeah, I just got a few giftcards for my B-Day  >:(  >:(

These pricks pulled the tent stakes on every store within a 8 hour drive from me. The corporate buyer of the stores refuses to honor the giftcards, stating that Sportsman's Corporate will not reimburse them.

Just got off the phone with Sportsman's Corporate. They want me to order merchandise through the telephone and pay for the shipping charges.

On a bright note, the new owner kept all of the staff.

I'm sure that Sportsman's Corporate would love to hear from you as well.... So here's the number: (301) 566-6681 or (301) 304-5801.

Can they do that?  I would think that there would be some legal obligation to honor the cards since money was used to buy them they would have to fullfil their end of the contract.  Seems kinda strange to me.  Pope?

SW will still honor the cards, you just have to order something or buy from a location that is still owned by them.

The new owners would basically be giving away free merchandise by taking the gift cards since SW corporate already has the money. Kind of like trying to use a SW gift card at Cabela's. Cabela's wouldn't get any money, only a worthless card and give away the gear.

I have heard the new owners of those locations are trying to get a deal going with SW so they can honor the card's value, then bill SW corporate to get reinbursed. Also heard that they will take the cards at the customer service counter, call SW and have one of their stores ship you the items you want and not pay shipping on orders over $100. Don't know any of this first hand, only rumors.

There was a Sportsmans Warehouse contingent from the Burlington store at the Everett RMEF Banquet tonight.  One of them got up and took the microphone and confirmed that Sportman's Warehouse has been sold.  Apparently some kind of deal has been made.  They announced that they will honor the giftcards until 6:00 p.m. Sunday.  So, if you got some.  Use them by tomorrow or you won't be able to at a NW location.

Just called the Portland location and they are accepting cards today (and yesterday) as well as still trying to get a deal going to accept cards in the future. Good show of faith by the new owners.

Yes, just under another company name.  According to the Burlington store rep at the RMEF Banquet in Everett Last night, they will stay open.  She even said that they have a lot of merchandise coming in from the new owners soon.  So they should be all restocked shortly.

Just got back from the Portland store. There were some bare or empty shelves! Reloading was really bare and factory ammo wasn't looking too good. They honored my two gift cards and the $10 coupon I got from the Sportsmans Show. Heard the new owners are going to put a lot of money into getting it stocked back up soon.
