Savage 111 in .270 and a Bergara HMR 6.5CM for those cross canyon pokes.

Mossberg 535 Slugger with 1.5-4.5 Bushnell on top.
Was really excited to try to use my Ruger GP100 this year as last year it seemed all the deer I came across were 20 feet away or less haha. This year nothing was close enough for this pistol novice to try the GP100 comfortably. So my buck this year fell to the slug gun shooting Winchester Partition Gold slugs. That slug gun has killed most of my deer to date

Like many things.. there are plenty of options.. for myself 6.5 creedmoor, or 300 blkout. My son 7mm08 or his 300 blkout, my daughter 6.5 Grendel or her 300 blkout. If I know it will be a brushy mess blkout get the nod. They are short and light and good out to 150 yards. Any other day the bigger guns get the chore.

When it's pouring rain, and I'm in the woods, I like to take out the AR15 in a 30/.223 wildcat. Ballistics wise it's a 30/30 with a 150gr round nose at 2250fps, with a Leupold VXIII 1.5x5.

Better weather and more open terrain it's a 1970's Ruger M77 Tanger in .270win. with a Leupold 3x9 with 140 gr Barnes.

If I had to choose just one for all season, it's the old Ruger. It's a tack driver with flat trajectory and enough power to cleanly put down game much further than I'll ever shoot, without getting kicked hard.

You'll never get a Big'un if you keep shooting Little'un's.

25-06 with 100gr. Ballistic Tips for me. My son used a .243 with 100gr. Cor-Lokt. Both got the job done as usual.
