Late buck va early buck

Are bucks still rutting in late buck? Just curious how people’s success differs from early season? Which is the better season?

I think I've heard that somewhere upwards of 40-50% of harvest happens during the late season. Leaves have fallen, lingering rutty behavior, more favorable weather for active deer that aren't as nocturnal make for increased odds. Just looked at the shooting hours for late buck, 5:05 doesn't give much time after work, dang.

Yes, still rutting behavior going on.  Studies on road killed and hunter harvested BT does found the range of time between estrus cycles was 19 - 22 days (by microscopic study of the ovaries). Other studies looking at dates of fawn drop minus 200 days gestation developed the peak of the rut dates.

Does that were hot in late October but were unsuccessfully bred will be going through another estrus cycle in mid to late-November .    The majority of successful breedings takes place somewhere around 7 - 15 November, but there's enough unbred does to keep many bucks searching into late-November and longer.
