Sometimes, yes. Sometimes it's guys in their retirement years with nothing else to do or want to do.
Sometimes I hit the shops to browse since I don't keep stock and periodically I get a windbag across the counter from me. It's always entertaining. Even more so at gun shows when I'm being out right lied to in hopes to catch a sucker and make a sale.
Mongo Hunter:
That's why at these gun counters just go in knowing what you want. Be Ron Swanson "I know more than you" and get out lol. 90% of the time the guys behind the counter are just there on rent and will be rotated out in a month. at least in my experience. :chuckle:
DOUBLELUNG:
A busy gun counter, especially in a chain store, is often more entertaining than a comedy club.
Kamo2112:
Asked a Cabelas employee once if they had the fish hook hat clip like Larry the Cable guy wears. He asked who Larry the Cable Guy was.
Jake Dogfish:
I’ll have to admit I have been that guy before, although I wouldn’t give bogus information. :dunno:
I worked in a sporting goods store for several years. I didn’t have the hunting background, but I could tell you what the fish were biting on that day. When the owner wasn’t there, the girls at the store ask me ammo questions. If you needed to know if we have the product I can find it. If you were looking for a recommendation I’m not qualified to know what ammo you need but I can sell you a license. :dunno:
You really need to know what you want before you get there. :sry:
