2006 dodge 2500 front ends
« on: March 24, 2009, 11:49:14 AM »
I was informed that the ball joints on my dodge are starting to get worn. Does anyone know if they have a beefed up version for replacement?  I do a little off road and the only real abuse the truck gets is when Teacherman gets ahold of it. :dunno:

check with the dealer and see if the part numbers for yours are the same as them for a power wagon....how many miles on the truck?
i worked for a dodge dealer service dept and never had to replace a set that i can think of...who told you they were loose? reputable source?

A mechanic that does my families repairs and has treated me well told me about it.  I've got about 40 some thousand on the rig. Love the truck too.  Has the Hemi in it.

With only 40k you should not need ball joints, and if you do shouldn't that be covered under warranty? My 02 Durango had a recall on the ball joints done around 70k, now has 174k and running strong. my 02 Ram has 138k ball joints are fine.

I had to replace mine at 120k in my '96 3/4 ton.  About 30k those miles were off the pavement.

:)In the old days...... like 1970, chrysler products were reknown for loose ball joints. I have no idea if that carries thru to now. They are not that hard to do, replace.
