If you want to do DIY Alaska is the only option, unless you have family in Canada

I have hunted with them a few times as has my grandfather and father at different times. Great camp, Food, and fun. We came home with moose every time and enough grouse to make you happy. We would drive to Prince George and get a room for the night then meet Shane the next day and drive in to camp. Headed home we leave from camp and straight on home, usually 14-15hrs or so to Marysville.
Feel free tp PM me if you want to chat. If you do book with Shane tell him I sent ya.

This is a BC hunt out of Prince George.

1) Did you bring back all of the meat?

2) If you brought back all of the meat, how many coolers did you fill and how big were the coolers?

One processed big moose will fill a 8 cf freezer to the top.  Take a freezer with a generator and it will travel fine.  I take a freezer and a large cooler to bring back my moose and hide.  We were able to fit two hides and left over processed meet in the big cooler with room to spare.  The hides were frozen solid so it kept the the cooler cold without ice.  I highly reccomend getting it processed in Canada for ease of transport.  The butcher cost is cheap comparatively.....  0.90 cents per pound and they will freeze your hide.

Here is a pic of the big grizzley cooler I take.

Did a archery moose hunt in ak in 2001. Killed a 56" bull on sept 10th. Took me and my partner 2 straight days of packing it 3 miles to get to water where my buddy could fly it back to kodiak. Definetly the hardest pack out i ever have done,my hips hurt for months .
The area we were in is a trophy area and we had to leave the meat on the bones with the hoof. Makes your load quite a bit heavier.
We were able to bring back all the meat and head and a weeks worth of silvers. My partners brother in law flew for alaska air and was able to get it flown down for cheap.
We rented grinders and processed everything at my buddys house in kodiak and then froze it in wax boxes.

we had no guide costs, we were free to do what we wanted(packed up and switched locations to go after my bull)
We were extremely remote.Heard one plane the entire time.
Would do it again if given the chance.
I couldn't believe how big the bodies on those things are. Three of us couldn't roll it over.
Had no negatives about the trip except putting the moose horn through my buddys back window of his plane. That sucked.
Would highly recommend Ak. Great people and i love supporting their economy.
Be in the best shape of your life, the terrain varies so much. Our first mile from the plane was on floating grass then up a mountain threw alders that were super thick.
Hope that answers any questions

We brought back our meat in the back of the truck. Shane has cold meat storage there and we wrapped the quarters in a heavy cooled tarp for the trip home. Trim went in the cooler. Once across the border it was straight to our favorite butcher.( TNT meats)
