Increasing draw length
ewade:
New to archery. I bought a Mathews vertix with a 27 1/2 draw length. After shooting the bow for a few months and getting pointers from other archers I realize now that I need a bow with a 28 1/2 in draw length. Is it possible to increase my draw length by an inch or will I need a new bow? Thanks
Stein:
I would take it in to Riverside Archery and they can help you with it. I think you need new modules to adjust the length, but I'm not familiar with Matthews bows.
Bucks2Ducks:
For my last mathews I had to pick up a new cam, I paid $60 on ebay. But I know a lot of the bows now days have adjustable cams, so you can change draw lengths. Bring it to a Mathews shop and they could hook you up. You will also get another 10fps or so out of that inch.
huntnfmly:
You change the draw length with a module.
If you run it into a shop that sales mathews most of them will just swap it out for free
Tracker0721:
I have a monster chill and paid $20 to have the draw reduced from 29.5 to my 27.5, limbs flipped, paper tuned, and had a half hour on the range but that was in Colorado. Bear creek archery for anyone visiting Denver! I think the vertix has the same draw adjustment. Doesn’t require a bow press even, unscrew a module and put the new one in.
