Forest service closure clarification?
« on: April 27, 2020, 03:53:21 PM »
Has anyone sought closure clarification? Website says trailheads are closed. Is that just “developed” trailheads or all trailheads with a sign? Also, are the trails themselves closed or can I just park down the road, bushwhack a 100 yards to the trail and keep going? I’ve tried calling ranger districts but no answer. Curious what the rest of you have come across?

What I've seen is that they don't want you parking at trailheads. Basically, park at a pull out or to the side of the road before the trailhead and start walking from there. You can walk through the trailhead, no need to bushwack, they just don't want people parking together in 1 area.

That maybe changing with WDFW opening up now.   Developed areas are closed.  If it has a sign that is closed. Like i said though that might change by the 5th.

Trailheads are closed, and I share theleo's understanding of the reasoning.

Friendly reminder that Inslee/Franz/Etc only control WA State lands and the rules for Forest Service and Federal lands need to be looked up independently.

Helpful info on the USFS lands:
