:archer:  Here is my plan.  On the 1st I am going to kill a 150 plus whitetail.  On the 8th i am going to let the air out of a real tall spike.  On the 12th i will be driving to MT to kill the biggest bull on the mountain (7x7).  I hope I have enough freezer space.  Good Luck to all.  Set your goals high.  You never know what could happen.

Got my leave approved for the first week of the season.  Going to buy my tag today.  Plan is to kill my first deer in the first week.  Not to concerned with size at the moment.  If that happens, fish a tournament with my neighbor.  Fill my turkey tag that I still have from the spring season.  More fishing, then slay coyotes to pass the winter.  It's going to be a good seasn.  Good luck everyone!  :IBCOOL:

As much as I'm excited to be able to chase deer on September 1st, I have to admit that I'm probably just as pumped at the prospect at getting an opportunity at some grouse - perhaps even more so if truth be told. Of course the reason for that is that it's been awhile since I last ate one of those tasty birds. In fact just this afternoon I fitted a few of my woodies and aluminums with Judos. Can't wait to get out there!

Same here, and this year i get to take my nephew for the first time grouse hunting, he passed hunt ed this summer and is really excited to go, ive taught and taken alot of kids and newbies hunting and im always excited for them.
Grouse in the morning then i go deer hunting in the evenings..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Best of luck, ladies and gents. Stay cool out there and prepare for RMR (rapid meat removal).  :P
I think it's even too hot to fish!
May the morning silence be broken with the wisp of vanes trailing blades to their mark.
