This is my best year fishing Lake Roosevelt for sturgeon so far. I've been camping with my wife and fishing for sturgeon from camp. I've heard guys say they put over a 100 in their boat in years past and I would say to myself they were exaggerating. Well this year my wife and I and 2 friends I took out have caught 88 sturgeon with only one keeper my wife caught. Do you think WDFW picked this slot knowing that there isn't a lot of keepers? 53" to 63"

Are most bigger or smaller? I would think if bigger then they grew in length since they started thr fishery and might need to increase the slot size?

Most were smaller. This year is the first year we've caught oversized fish. 2 8fters, 5, 7fters several in the mid to upper 60's.

Glad to hear you're finding lots of over sized fish, those are the breeders that will keep this fishery alive!

That’s a lot better then we have done in the bonneville pool. Slot limit is 38-54”. We are at around 300 without a keeper. We used to catch keepers every day just 6-8 years ago.
