Size 14  beadhead pheasant tails, zugbugs and hares ears.  All Cutts love red.   Balanced leeches work anytime of year

Size 12 Carey special with a size 16 soft hackle 12-18" behind that.  Great prospecting rig.

I am throwing them under a float with spinning tackle from shore because i dont know how to fly fish nor do i own a fly rod lol

Lots of lakes, without a float tube, that's the best option! Tends to be brushy. Super clear water though, so go with lite stuff and clear bubbles. 4lb main line, 2lb leader is a killer combo. On an honest to goodness ultralight, hard to find one 7ft but if you do... talk about fun! Casts a country mile, but tangles easily.

I've never failed with coachmen, mosquitoes, or their buckskin brown counterparts. Brown and drab. So much fun! Let 'em sink if they sink, no problem, retrieve just fast enough to see a hint of wake, you'll see the swirl when a brookie takes it, the rainbows and cutts usually break the surface.

Haha, I was just going to say a spinner can't be beat!

But to really answer the questions, I've had great luck with mosquito's slowly stripping from shore.

A single egg fly was one of the most effective I used in high lakes.

I've had best luck with little rubber frog flies.

I use those little gold bead nymphs I think they are called? The little flies with the gold bead head and I slay the high mountain trout with them on my ultralight rod with a bubble .
