Banks Lake
« on: April 03, 2009, 09:24:24 AM »
I am going to make a run over to Banks Lake tomorrow to check out my boat and do a bit of fishing. Is anyone familier with Bank this time of year :fishin:

I'll be in the boat  :chuckle: that way you have an expert guide, well at least at story telling. We will take pics.

Is there any good bank fishing for walleye in banks? I live right in Electric City but haven't tried walleye fishing and don't have a boat...  Also, my father in law is over and would like to take him out fishing this weekend.

STOUT-You can bank fish over by the canal..You may have to come in over by E street (heading toward bridgeport just across canal take a left)  follow E street out passed all of the houses and there is a road that comes in towards canal.  Walk down and you can cast off of the rocks..use a 3/8 to 1/2 oz. jig thread a curly tail grub and tip with nightcrawler..cast out and make sure its on bottom.. You will snag a lot, so bring lots of jigs and line..good luck.

I love Banks Lake, it is big enough to get away from everyone and has a ton of fish. Thanks for the pics.

We fished the flats across from Coulee Playland and it was really slow. I picked one up and missed two bites on a tube jig. The guys in the boat that where using bottom walkers didn't get any hits. Tried both chartruse and orange. Fished the lake until about 10. At that point we packed it up and headed to Rufus. I will put that under a new post with pics later. Oh ya, nice fish.  ;)
