Winter bass!
« on: November 17, 2019, 07:47:35 PM »
I did really good last week! Shallow bite was nonexistent for me but 25 feet was on fire! Here's two of my ten.

Nice fish. I imagine finesse fishing for them?

Nice. Those are killer rigs for sure. Was thinking about hitting my local lake and doing some pan fishing and see if any bass are willing to take a chomp at something

Water temps here have hovered around 49 for a couple weeks now. I know a kid that caught a few bass shallow on a chatterbait last weekend but I haven't touched a shallow bass since the first week of November. Just tells me there's more fish in the process of moving out to my deep spots!

I've never had the pleasure of catching a single bass in WA even having tried a handful of times.  Caught them elsewhere... I feel silly.

Columbia River for smallmouth or Horseshoe Lake just above you for largemouth are good choices. A few other little lakes around Horseshoe as well.

Think slow, fish slow, but they're there

They are biting good around Spokane! Mostly on blade baits on points.

Nice bass.

With a carolina-rigged lizard I caught a cold-weather "Muskie" in the shallows of a small lake in upstate NY.  The thing hardly fought, it was so cold.  It kind of just laid there being reeled in.

Nice! I am gearing up to start winter fishing again.  Most of my buddies only fish in the spring and are afraid of the cold.   :chuckle:  I use to pick up spots and smallies at up to 60 feet with hammered spoons and 5"' worms on a jighead.
