So how do you trap them?  And what type of area do they live?

They like conifer timber. Good looking place for a cat set is a good place for spotted skunk. They have a great sense of smell so they will follow their nose to a stinky bait. Good tree climbers so a KORO on a run pole is a good set. Advantages to getting them swinging in the air after caught. I still use my pipe traps on the ground though and gas them. Either way works good.

The koro trap works perfectly! Or gas them or even dunk them
I trap them and then i cover the trap with a tarp that is already over the trap disguising it then i pick up put in a storage box like you get at walmart, put lid on it carry it to truck and gas it.if at home or around a water hose i will put hose in box and slowly fill with water until full then wait 10 min. and bag then to freezer.  :twocents:  got a few this year lol.

Had a dog get one while hunting Crab Creek. Threw the dog into a pond and rubbed with mud. Got back to my vehicle and found some V-8 and rubbed the dog down. Placed the dog in his dog box in the back of my van. Drove back to my room in Vantage with all of the windows open. Bought some shampoo and went to the room. Pulled up to my room and some kid in the next room slammed the window shut while shouting about the stink. Put the dog in the shower and spent at least 30 minutes in there with the dog. Next day when I was leaving I went back into the room and realized that the room still smelled. Always expected a bill after that but it never came. For over a year you could smell the skunk in that van. It was especially strong on a humid day.

One quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap. Mix ingredients as needed – not in advance.  Smell will be gone.

Works great.  Always clean skunk skins this way too before I stretch them.
