Wolf hunting in Idaho
« on: June 08, 2020, 01:50:28 PM »
Just got back from 4 days of wolf hunting in Idaho... was not successful :(  yet...
Was looking in units 12, 10, and 10a...These are huge areas but we did not find any wolfs, at least where we were.
We did find Elk, Deer, (muley & whitetail) bear, beaver - no Moose.
Idaho folks are great, every person we spoke with wanting them gone "smoke a pack a day"

I will be heading back in August  8)

Thanks a bunch for coming over and giving it a try!  Appreciated.  Don't be worried to set up with electronic call.

I’ll be over in August as well, Unit one. It’s not the worst thing you didn’t find any, better than being overrun! Keep us posted when you go later

I've been hearing a ton of reports of wolves on the south side of dworshak this spring from buddies who work in that area every day.

Keep after it. You will see them eventually! If you decide on a winter hunt trip, I can give you a few areas off of highway 12 that I was encountering them before fish and game went up there this spring with a helicopter.

I will be after WT in 10-A in late Nov. Good odds to run into a wolf then? Will be my first time there.

Outstanding, thank you everyone, I went back out and found one dead Elk (I believe it to be wolf kill) at least two weeks old, mostly all gone.
I won't give up, my 7mm can reach 1000 yrds+ so I will keep at it. I do have an electronic call too, and plenty of rounds...  :IBCOOL:
