It’s all around frustrating. Wells Chelan and Entiat will be slammed with a late opener coupled with Astoria not opening up till mid August. Every year more and more boats get shoved into smaller and smaller areas. I need to start bass fishing  :chuckle:

On Columbia? Just came out yesterday that all the way to wells dam projected opener mid July and Brewster mid August. Complete joke! 11,000 more fish this year over bonneville as this time last year. Can’t fix stupid

Where did you find this information? I looked on the WDFW website, under emergency rule changes, and didn't find anything......

Doesn't pertain to fisheries above Priest Rapids Dam, and is largely based on pre-season forecasts, which we all know is so accurate!

You can’t find a single Reason to license your boat in Washington? Sounds like you should consider selling your boat.

I have a 12' aluminum that I take for lake fishing.  My bigger boat I use on the Snake and Columbia hasn't been licensed since 2016.  Steelhead on the Snake has been down for years and a two sockeye limit in Brewster isn't worth the trip.

But yes, I am going to sell my boat.

Guides I know and i trust what they have said. They are booking July 1 sockeye trips.

Wdfw can give a straight answer on the delay of the summer run opener. Several of us have written them and get different reasons.. cause its all BS

I have property below Wells and fish that every year if it’s open.  Keep watching the counts and waiting for them to say it’s gonna open July 1.  Then yesterday get the email that they’re closing the lower river early for sockeye. Not sure what to expect now.  It’s 2020, anything could happen.  :bash:

Finally managed to track down the regs allowing for a 2 fish Sockeye season above Priest rapids Dam. It is in the 2021 regs, that haven't been published yet. It was also part of the North of Falcon process. As for Summer Chinook, we are at the 50% historical return date, for Bonneville passage. Since this is above the total pre-season forecast, hopefully we will see some sort of season in the upper Columbia, but probably not before the 15th.
