My friend in Fruitland sold a huckleberry cream cheese pie at a pie auction in Hunters, Wa. Sold it for a record amount--I think around $75. UMMM, Arlie's huckleberry cream cheese pie and vanilla bean ice cream. |

Good call. Somehow I have missed this. I'm going to try it. Looks really good. Interesting note: Apparently, Doc Holiday really did say "I'm your Huckleberry" (or something to that affect). Not a Hollywood script invention.... |

This pie has been a staple in my house for years, And I will miss some salmon fishing and bear hunting to make sure we have huckleberrys in the freezer every year. It's right up there with homemade wild blackberry pie. |
