Google homemade lye soap and sub the bear fat for the grease needed. It's pretty easy to make.

Just used some bear grease to cook my boys tenderloin and blackstrap. I can’t believe I just figured this out at 43 years old. Kind of embarrassed to admit that actually. :drool: :drool: :drool: It is so unbelievably useful and delicious.

A buddy of mine in the '70s used rendered bear fat for boot grease.
His feet never got wet.
My feet got wet regardless of the boot grease I used.
