Wyoming Mule Deer Migration

The Eastman boys did a nice job putting this together.  Enjoyable to see this amazing herd doing their thing on the landscape.

No. I hunted Montana this year. I’m sitting on 8 points though and will need to make a decision this winter.

From over 1 million to apprx 400k, so herd @ 40%, sad.

Really brings out the question of whether or not Wa. is doing enough to slow the decline, maintain current levels, or see growth.  Mule deer efforts are back burner in favor of wolves.    :twocents:

Awesome video
I look at the Swakane area every year and see the development going up and screwing up the migration and winter range. Less deer. It is sad. I have been bow hunting up there for 20 years.

Lots of other factors different between Wyoming and Washington (political) that doesn’t help our state.

Good video with lots of interesting facts about an amazing deer herd in an amazing place. Biologist Gary Fralick in the video checked my deer at the Alpine check station this year. Did not know he was in charge of the herd at that time but he did say the 16-17 winter kill could turn out to be the worst since the famed 92-93 die off. Hope they bounce back quickly.
