The ONLY deer I saw this season. Unit 418
« on: November 01, 2021, 02:00:35 PM »
Brown Down! After not seeing a single deer all season, I was getting pretty nervous.. but Patience and consistency payed off! October 30th around 1pm my instincts led me down a random deer trail while still hunting. After a few doe bleats from a can,  I waited for another 15 minutes crouched, when I stood up, I saw him standing 30 yards behind me in the trees. Enormous relief washed over me as I quickly found him in my scope and pulled the trigger. Not the huge Mt. Baker buck I was hoping for but this guy will do! Every time out in the woods it is a learning experience. Now I know these doe calls work at the end of the month! Pretty cool 3x2 if you ask me. Very grateful.

Nice job persistence pays off! I've been in many situations where I'm close to giving up and then bam a buck deer shows himself.

Great blacktail! That's awesome to have him come in so close with a call. I had a similar experience last season, it took me 11 times out in the woods before I even scoped a deer. Only takes one opportunity!

Right on nice Buck! Yeah Blacktails are sneaky like that always check behind you in the thick they will watch you walk by and not bound away.

Beutiful deer, looks almost identical to mine this year. It even has the identical 3x2 rack. Made steaks, roasts, hamburger grind, and jerky grind. Very tasty so far, and the burgers tonight disapeared with a quickness. Congrats and enjoy all the meals you'll get out of him.
