Goodbye Sweet Maggie

I had to send my sweet Maggie on without me his morning. The large animal vet made a “farm” visit to the house for me. It cost a lot, but it’s worth every penny to me so Maggie didn’t have to have her last moments in a cold strange place she’s never been, after a car ride she hates. Instead she passed on in my lap in her spot in the living room. We had 14 years of adventures in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana and recently North Dakota. She sat beside me every single day during my three year battle with cancer. Just before Halloween she turned crippled & lost control of bathroom & was in pain a lot of the time. He vet said she did something to her back- she could feel the vertebrae messed up where the nerves for the back legs & bathroom functions come out. She said there were things we could try but they’re expensive & little chance for success in getting her walking again at her age.

She sent us home with some muscle relaxers & pain killers for Maggie & that helped a lot to make her comfortable.  Here a couple pictures of our last adventure together on Tuesday this week. I love & miss my best friend so much, I don’t know what I’ll do without her.

For some reason the picture is upside down & I can’t figure out how to fix it.
