Stalking bedded blacktail

<< < (4/4)

Boss .300 winmag:
Blacktails bed with the wind at their backs, so they can watch out front where there is no scent coming from.

I use grunts, bleats on blackies, something less alarming than a random rock falling, or twig breaking, IMO which is more alarming to them.

Your doing it right when you get that close.👍

I had an experience two days ago, but I’m saving that for my end of year deer hunt thread.😉

Keep at you’ll be successful, I’m seeing good numbers of deer everyday right now.

Oh, and read Boyd Iversons Trophy Blacktail Tactics if you haven’t.

I only ever see them in one of 3 cuts that are all connected by one drainage

Well that explains it. Thought I was being sneaky coming in from behind him. Lesson learned. I’ve been trying to read that book for a while. Thanks for the response
