Yes there were.

Getting this thread back on track I don’t know if this years tag has been filled but i do know that in the past two years over $170,000 went to conservation because of this tag. That is some serious coin.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

As far as I know, he’s not a member here. I assume the pics will end up here one way or another, but likely not with his permission.
It’s unfortunate how those threads consistently go.

If they were in the colockum and if a bull was taken I am not sure the photos will end up here.

The Dan Agnew Arizona bull thread would be a prime example of why they wouldn't want to post the pic here.

Yeah because no one knows that there are any big bulls in the colockum...  :chuckle:
Uh..... I think everyone knows there are big bulls in the colockum.  It's the comments of did you see what camo he is wearing, what did that gun cost, why did he just whack the cape off, don't congratulate him congratulations should go to the team of guides that found the bull for him and all the other trash that goes along with people taking pop shots at a hunter who is able to do what so many of us can't.

I was able to hunt the colockum this year and shared every detail that I felt comfortable sharing so that many others could get a glimpse into what the experience was like.  Some probably thought I shared too much.  Many knew exactly where I was hunting as multiple people had trail camera photos and video of the bull I shot.  Thankfully none of them shared that location on the public forum.  Luckily it went well for me and I didn't get negative comments but there was ton of stuff in my story that I am sure people could have taken pop shots at me for.  I am glad they didn't and wish when others decide to share on this forum people could just scroll on by if all they have to add is negative comments.

I think the negative posts people referred to above were more directed at "that rich guy who can buy anything". I'd certainly love to see the bull but understand not wanting to deal with the BS. Maybe it was I who missed the point.  :dunno:
I think you are correct but negative comments could have just as easily been made about my hunt but weren’t. It would have been nice if the Arizona thread had taken the same path. I think that thread made it three comments before it started to swing negative

Rainier, I think your bull elk story was wonderful and love to see others success stories and pictures of members personal hunts. I like to see the support for each other on the forum as we share personal experiences and ask each other for advice and help.  The Arizona post was not by the hunter but just someone sharing a random picture that is all over the internet of a bull Dan shot.  The comments were more on what money can buy than on hunting in my opinion.  I feel bad that some have taken it so personal.  You will never see me bash hunters on this forum that share stories and pictures of themselves and their families hunts.

It sounds like, based on others' comments who are familiar with the hunt you're commenting on, you don't know all the details of the Agnew hunt and the post with the pic.

If your post about Dans Arizona bull wasn't a bash on him than I guess I am so far out of touch I better go back in my huntwa hole.. Reread what you posted and see what you think...And yes that is exactly why many gov tag pics aren't on here.. I've got a couple of giant bucks on my phone from this year I would love to share but not gonna risk putting them here and seeing my friend get bashed for having made smart money moves and spending some of it on hunting and killing giant animals and it be a negative thing...

I bet most remember the bull Dan killed in the Dayton many years ago, had guides all over looking for the biggest certain bull. They find his bull, he flies in, kills it, take pics, then flies out.  Not saying he did anything wrong, NOT attacking him on anything, just saying that is what many prob remember. So you get this. Just my opinion but anytime Dan posts another 400+ bull (or someone else does for him), it will be met with negative or jealous opinions.  NOT saying its right!!!! Just saying guys have their mind set about certain hunts/hunters. Nobody could say anything negative about Rainier’s hunt, and other members hunts on here because they have a certain amount of respect by most if not all. I personally have a hard time taking any of dans hunts seriously, it is a different world in his shoes. I love looking at the beasts he kills, but a story like Rainier’s bull and Jonathan’s, is what really impresses me and deserves up most respect. AGAIN, no disrespect towards Mr Agnew, it’s just different.

I know I will get hounded for comment like that.
But it seems that is where the confusion is.
