I agree 100% with BC Chaser. This state has a lot to offer. A friend asked me today if fishing season was open yet. :yike: Fishing is open year round here. Just don't be so dang picky about what you want to fish for. Same goes for hunting. There are always predators and varmints. I have yet to go out deer hunting in this state and not see a deer so it confuses me when folks say the population is down. Elk I have yet to figure out but that is what makes it fun for me. Haven't even seen one the last three seasons but I know they are out there because I see them during the off season. I hunt WA and if it works out to head to da UP for deer I'll jump at the chance.

I think the common gripe about this state is that it doesn't stack up to Wyoming montana colorado Idaho etc. This state has the potential to be a mecca to out of state hunters, like the other states mentioned. Haven't you ever heard of a local from an other state (while hunting in thiers) complain about all the imports? I have! The more this state screws up the seasons and the way the run things just makes more opportunites for those who think outside the box. I've ben hunting out of state and each has thier own charm. In this state you wanna kill something it's gona be in somebody's back yard. You gota use a bow to get permission, but it's still wacking and stacking' :twocents:em

I'm hooked on Oregon, love my WA hunting cause I do that with large group of friends, but man Oregon seems tuff to beat.

WDFW will never have us as sportsman as their main concern. All they care about is the $'s, as long as they keep flowing in, they'll keep making the same rediculous decisions they've been making. Case in point is the mechanical decoy debate of a few years ago. I voiced my opinion along with probably every other waterfowler out there, and when I got my thankyou for participating card from WDFW, they let me know that even though public opinion ran 95% pro decoys, they were going to make them illegal. How's that for logic? One gal put it perfectly when she stated at the town hall meeting I attended, who cares if we limit in 5 minutes or 5 hours, as long as we obey the limits? They plain and simple don't give a damn. They know we'll continue to spend our money playing the tag lottery because it's in our blood. >:(
