I have been looking for a nice frame pack for hunting, backpacking, shed hunting, etc. I dont have much experience with frame packs, what are some good frame packs you guys may use?

I have an EXO Mtn Gear K3 frame with the 3200 pack. Use it for shed hunting, turkey hunting, and packed an elk out in it last September. Excellent pack.

Do it right first…. and get an exo. I have nothing but great things to say about my exo mountain pack. I have it in the 4800. Carry meat between the pack and frame. Great customer service. Not cheap but the investment will last.

Exo, Stone Glacier, or Kifaru you can't go wrong with. Heard good things about the Seek Outside as well. I have the SG 5900 and use it for everything, awesome pack.

What's your price range? There are a lot of good options, but knowing if you are looking at $400 or $700 will give you some direction.

Another EXO fan here, took out an elk hind quarter and half of a 2 point blacktail, not all at once though lol. Seriously though, great packs.

Mystery Ranch might be another consideration.  They go on sale a few times a year at some pretty attractive prices.  My boy runs the Metcalf and loves it. I use a Kifaru and would highly recommend that also, although they are a bit more spendy. All of the other packs mentioned above are very good packs, just depends on your budget.  There's always some pretty good deals on used packs on various sites such as Rokslide also.

I had that pack and did not like it one bit! Works if your budget is tight, though.

If you are looking just for a bad azz frame, BullPac.  Comfy, light and if you want eventually you can buy a bag for it.  But its a packing machine.

CamoFire frequently has the Alps packs on there for 99 for just the frame and about 140 with the bag.

Everyone I know who has a Kifaru, Exo, and Stone Glacier has been very happy with their choice. I’m a bargain guy and get Mystery Ranch through a pro deal, I’m very happy with MR products. I use my frame with different sized packs depending on my hunt, about 20-30 days a year. If I was going for 100+ days I could see jumping to the next price level.

I love my Stone Glacier Solo on the X Curve frame. Super light weight (4.1 lbs empty) and can hold enough for a multiple day back country excursion. Excellent comfort when packing meat. I packed out three bulls last season and had 130+ lbs on one haul. Very durable. Worth the high price in my opinion.
