Anyone use a German Shepherd to shed hunt?

We had a Shepard when in high school. Kindest dog to most people, fiercest to those he detected to be a threat. You also did not get on the property unless introduced. He also had the ability to find stuff. Give him a scent and he could find it. Not sure about how he would have reacted to critters or other distractions in the woods but I'm sure if he had training for a specific task (Sheds ) he would have found them. Think detection dogs

Reminds me of this one dog we had brought out on this investigation.  Everyone thought it was going to be a big deal.  The gal got out of the rig with him, looked like the dog was taking her on a walk.  She put some stuff out to "test" him or calibrate him, I don't even know.  Dog went over here and peed, went over there and took a leak, sniffed some old food.  The gal had more excuses then Carter has pills on why he wasn't doing anything.  Finally she loaded him back up and took off.  The dog had a real nice truck that was donated by the community though, had a nice vest with lots of patches on it.  The gal was in a job she had no business being in, I think that's why they gave her the dog.
