Anybody using goats?

Like in general, or in the goat rocks specifically?

I use goats, or at least have started to.

there should be a list of prohibited areas on wdfw. I am also positive the only places they are banned is wdfw wildlife areas with bighorn sheep. Id email and ask them.

Some goat ropers camped where I hunt and their goats ate bark on about 50 trees and killed them. Been camping in same spot for 28 years and it always looked the same till now

Just get a horse or a mule.  Go in half with a buddy and find somewhere to board it during the year.  You don't have to be able to ride it, just lead it around.  Goats shouldn't be in the woods.

I've been in there and people had pack goats.

The best other than riding a horse or mule was a guy had three pack burrows that just either moved ahead of him or followed him dependent upon their mood. They follow him around like dogs. I talked to the owner burrows had panniers with his camp, cot, ice chest with milk. Looked way smarter than me backpacking.

Seen lamas in there two. Go in on a weekend and you will see about 80 cars at the 96 trail head and 40 at the 95. You will meet folks from all over the world.
There are only so many sunrises left.

It would sure be cool to see where the goats could go v. where the horses and mules could go without falling off a cliff.

I don’t have an exact answer, but goats can get around better than I can, and a lot better than horses or mules. Plus they do t need to be lead, they just follow you like a dog.

Now if only I could ride them…
