'23 Chiwawa migration
« on: November 30, 2023, 04:40:08 PM »
I managed to pull a trail cam card from one of my units early this past week. 135 videos recorded in about 30 days. Which is normal for this site.

There is no snow this year in the area I am familiar with in this large (Chiwawa) unit. Last year the conditions at this time were, to put it mildly, horrific.

How these deer manage to adapt and survive amongst wolves and mountain lions is... beyond me. I'm not very imaginative or smart so I'll simply remain incredulous for the time being.

As I organize and edit the remaining 133 video's (one video has already been posted in a previous thread) I will post some additional BUCK videos.

Enjoy!

My son and I took a drive up there Thanksgiving and not lots of snow. Lots of tracks moving around. Did see one set of wolf or dog tracks on the road.

Heck yeah!  I do love that migration and the heavy, dark horn bucks that suddenly appear out of the deep woods.

That will do pig, that will do!

Beautiful buck
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

January doldrum's has finally arrived.

Time to ruthlessly edit the remaining videos from the one -Chiwawa- trail cam I pulled in December. I've attached a few (3) of the more interesting clips. I'll probably have to send two posts so I don't exceed file size limits or... whatever.

I believe the attached videos include the same buck who kept showing up from about the first of November until about the 21st. Not a large antlered buck (perhaps 150-160 class) but certainly the boss buck on the ridge that intercepted does headed for the Swakane or Entiat winter ranges. Speculation on my part about winter ranges, because without radio collar's or transponders... well, you get my meaning!

Enjoy!
