Anybody been out to the coast recently?
« on: March 07, 2024, 02:10:24 PM »
Was wondering how busy it is right now from anybody that’s been recently?

After seeing too many crowds on a Monday for the Hoh a couple weeks back, I hiked in to a different river and managed one on spoon and another on fly. Was thinking of scooting back out there in a week or two. Maybe float the lower bogi water if crowds are nutty on Ho.

I believe bottom fish opens on Saturday.  Not sure about steelhead and such.

Me thinks the Bfish opener will be kinda quiet.

I saw that, was going to troll for black mouth and take the nephew for a +1 catch but not with 25-30mph.

The hoh is crowded, but there are definitely fish around. It’s turning into every other March-April, have to try pretty hard to find a spot that doesn’t have people.

Was going to razor clam this weekend, but decided 49MPH gusts on Saturday aren't appealing.

Yeah I try to use my Monday off to get out there and avoid some of the crowds. Maybe take a Tuesday and overnight. I’ll probably do that here towards the end of the month and see how I luck out. I usually like to hike in above the guide boats or go down below the last gravel bar launch. My favorite is April and on when the waves of folks calm down.
