I have had my best success on the hottest days. If someone really really wanted to kill a bear I would recommend hunting the hottest day of the week.
My season starts today after work. Missed the best day of the week yesterday when it was 100 lol.

We actually saw a bear yesterday at around 1300 in the heat of the day. I was amazed.
