From what I understood, Mole skin was used for thongs because of innate softness. Fur on Rat skins, may not have the same quality of softness or hypoallergenicness as Mole skin. This could lead to excessive itching and rashes in the nether regions. Though it is generally understood that Rat Rawhide (fully tanned) makes for excellent quality binding and wraps. :hello:
