To those with lots of experience, do you think size depends on how low of a tide there is? It seemed like if I stayed basically in the water(the closest possible to the ocean) that I got bigger clams. Lots of folks pulling above where the waves never hit while you were digging, but the clams were deeper, and mostly smaller. :dunno: I am still newer at this. |

You can find a higher % of bigger clams lower in the tidal zone. I think they don't get picked off as often as higher up which is exposed many more times, not that you can't find some bigger clams there. |

Clams that only get exposed on a -1.5 only get dug a couple times a year. Clams at 0.0 get dug every two weeks from October - May. |
