Well if you ever wondered if heading over to Salt Lake City was worth the time / money, I say YES. Took the wife and we had a great weekend.

What an awesome experience that gets your hunting battery to 100% real quick. Lot of great people and products. Definitely recommend trying to go on Thursday or Friday, Saturday is balls to the wall in the Salt Palace!

Got super lucky and drew one the 200 expo tags. Odds ended up being 1 in 670.

Full disclosure, it's Buck Pronghorn Archery, but I don't care! What an awesome opportunity in what looks like beautiful country!

I do have a question for the forum, if anyone has any recommendations on cellular trail cams and ground blinds, I would be grateful for your opinion.

And if you live anywhere near Port Orchard, I would gladly buy you a burger / beer if you have any insight on archery pronghorn or hunting in Central Utah.

I plan on making 2 scouting trips before the opener on August 15, and arriving a few days early to finalize opening day plans. I do have to get back to Washington for fall football practice pretty soon after the opener, so I'm trying to stack the odds in my favor for an early opportunity!

Good luck to everyone in the draws this season!

Hope to see you guys at the WAWSF Banquet next weekend!

Thanks Hunt Washington Forum

Yeah the expo is a good time. Thursday and Friday are great and wouldn’t bother doing Saturday and Sunday. Congrats on the tag!

Congrats that’s a nice bonus to hitting the expo, no recommendations on cell cams but be aware I think by August first trail cameras are not allowed… you would just need to plan one of your scouting trips for the end of July to pull cams. What unit I had a muzzleloader tag last year in UT. Good luck out there

You might contact utah div of wildlife and get a map showing general location of guzzlers in the area. They've placed them all over the state and antelope use them regularly.  If you go down there scouting if you can find the guzzlers you'll find the antelope. Lot easier for archery to set up over one that's being used regularly.
