I don’t want to jack the thread, but since this is kind of a 270 thread. I have around 200 150gr sierra bullets  I would like develop for use in a Ruger M77 tang safety rifle. Just because I already have them. Part of an estate acquisition, not a planned purchase.  It has a 20” pencil barrel Any thoughts out there on the 150 grains vs. 140’s or even 130’s? I’m going to put a Leupold CDS scope on it and don’t really want to use the CDS for a less than optimum round.

150 gr will put you about the same muzzle velocity as a 308
130 gr will put ya at 3000+ .
That's about it.
Of course, what your rifle likes matters.
140 GR is kinda sweet spot for muzzle velocity.
