I was waiting for a second to come in(knowing there were 3 roosted) so they could double. The first bird got spooky so I decided one was better than none and told her to shoot. Then I saw why I believe he was spooky, the second tom running in full send! He got to the decoy and I told her to shoot him and then immediately saw the third one running in so said wait! Shoot one in right and you shoot the one on the left. Well the one stood still while the other was moving his head around a bunch so we only got 1. The decoy being knocked over didn’t help my cause for getting the other one to come back in. He wanted to, he was 80 yards away strutting and gobbling but knew something wasn’t right.

The decoy is actually a mounted Jake that my daughter shot last year. I had a buddy learning taxidermy mount him for me for a decoy. First time using him and it worked awesome!

I beg to differ, you'll have a shadow and a caller. Hand him a box call and have fun.

Agree, as I was mostly joking. He has been coming with me well before he was shooting.

will you post a pic of it, i have thought about just putting a fan on a stick and using it by a hen to entice one but a whole mounted turkey is interesting, how cumbersome was it to pack in

Here’s a pic of it in the car, and one in the background after it got beat up
It isn’t the easiest thing to carry around but not as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely only something I’ll use when I know where I’m sitting and not hiking terribly far. Not a run and gun decoy.

Nice job all around, and an excellent decoy!
