Bow Quiver for Longbow Recommendations
« on: July 09, 2009, 09:01:58 AM »
I am wanting to switch to a bow quiver for my longbow.  I don't need to protect feathers since I am shooting plastic, and only need it to hold 3-4 arrows.  My only other requirement is that I don't want to drill holes into my bow.

Anyone have any recommendations for something they like?

There are some nice slip on models out there,  like Selway.   here is a link to one for sale at tradgang...  http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=67;t=003283

Thanks for the replies.  The "boa"  is ordered up.  That was exactly what I was looking for.  Thanks Doug.

Nice site there Doug, thanks!  I like the armguards and the hip quiver.

I use a Selway on my homemade recurve.  They make a longbow slip-on version.  Why plastic vanes?  Generally, you want to shoot feathers off the shelf or you could shoot vanes off an elevated rest, like a springy or flipper.  You need good arrow flight and that is difficult to do with vanes.

I wanted to switch to a heavier arrow then the 15 year old cedar shafts I was still using.  My aluminum arrows that I had used with my old compound shot perfect right from the get go.  They stabalize immediately and fly true the entire way.  I am going to make up some arrows next month since I only have 5 good hunting shafts left.  When I do I will put feathers on them.  I have no idea what shafts or broadhead I will be using yet.
