| First shed of the season for me! |

I read of mention of sheds starting to fall in another post. Well, saturday 12/8 I found my first fresh one this season. Its the earliest I can remember finding. It was under a hemlock next to a fairly fresh bed and had a little streak of dried blood on the base and fresh green bark embedded in the burs. I also found two somewhat fresh cougar killed carcasses within 800 yards or so of the shed. One spike and one 3x3. Both had the antlers still firmly attached. To answer some questions that I predict (I got a few on another board): elevation was about 2500 foot Washougal unit, in Skamania county There was patchy snow from the last storm but most was gone |

I saw 3 Bucks last week while hunting (Chelan Co.)with one horn!!! I passed on one. |

I ahd a feeling its going to be an early year with the rut starting so fast. I figure Weatherby permit holder is going to shoot a big buck only to have his antlers fall off in his hand. :) There goes the next wave of folks to hit the Swakane. |
