Why do people do stupid things?
« on: October 16, 2009, 11:05:35 AM »
Some people should not have guns. If you look on sites there are pages and pages of stupid people with guns. And people wonder how someone gets shot on accident.

Well, I was turkey hunting this year, had a tom working he came in from the other side, not where I was expecting him and he slowly kept coming strutting, I was on my knees without cover, the shotgun with a pistol grip on a shooting stick, I kept following the tom who was visible but behind some brush 40 yards away, I kept turning when I was about to pull the trigger I realized the adjustable gun stock was right in front of my face and I could not adjust my body without getting busted.   :bdid: with 3 1/2 super mag shells.

I remember hunting snowshoe hares with friends in Wyoming - I grabbed the wrong shotgun one day, so ended up out there with my ex-wife's Mossberg (she was as tall as Frodo and the stock had about 4" cut off).  I hunted with it anyway, every time I pulled the trigger the first knuckle on my thumb would pop me in the nose!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
