Ok so with a bit of looking I cant find anything about expandables in the regs. Are they leagl or not?

Look in the regs under "Equipment"...all of the specifics are listed about hunting tips under "Archery".

I was told (not verified), mechanicals are legal for the first time on turkey only.

P.S. A sold single blade will always be more dependable than any "high tech" mechanical. Besides, look at the satisfaction you will cheat yourself out of not tuning your bow to shoot fixed blade tips well. Heck, I think getting the darned thing to shoot properly is half the fun!

Stingers will kill turkeys...and pigs and deer, elk,etc. and fly wonderfully!

Expandables/Mechanical are illegal and worthless in my opinion on big game.  Watched a good friend make an unfortunately bad shot on an elk this year with a Rage expandable.  Shoulder shot, arrow penetrated 3 inches at most.  Found arrow 30 feet from location of shot, both blades were broken off.  I say stick with a fixed blade and preferably something that is solid one-piece construction like a Montec or Magnus.  My

No, we were in MT.  Apparently they are legal there.  I stuck with my Montecs and after he saw how his Rage held up, he had a quiver full of Montecs the next day.
