Is this common?

Rick:
I have a Super Shadow in .300WSM for a truck/beater/loaner gun. I haven't had any problems with the finish, even during some serious snow/rain storms.
JoeVon:
I've got a newer Mod.70 Coyote Lite in a .325 WSM and was having the same problems.  I cured mine from rusting by leaning it up in a corner with a can of rem oil sitting next to it.  Everytime I walked by it I would coat it, Heavily, then just let it absorb what it could.  A few weeks of this seemed to work just fine.  I think towards the tail end of Winchester's New Haven existince they were a little cheap or ineffective with their "bluing" process.  If you don't want to do that and want a guarenteed rust free rifle I would look into Moly Coating.

Head-shot:
thanks to everyone for your thoughts and advice.
