Next season's trophy?
« on: November 23, 2009, 01:54:19 PM »
I love bucks with a little bit of character, and this guy has it; he has that awesome point that comes inward at the fork! Couldn't get a photo of another mulie in the area with dual drops; hoping to find him again. :)

That little dagger is pretty cool.

Nice pics!

Thanks! I enjoy getting out after the season has ended and seeing what was smart enough to escape. :)

Thank you... I hope to have more soon... still haven't gotten close enough for any usable photos of the buck with the drops... unfortunately I've found the seasonal crud and haven't been able to get out to find him again; I'm pretty set on it though so hopefully they'll be on here sooner rather than later.

Believe me! If he was a resident buck in the area and I would have come across him during the season I wouldn't have hesitated. :) I think he's one of the migratory bucks though... so it'll be interesting to see if/when he comes back into the area next year. I have a pretty good idea of what most of the local stock looks like in his current home, and I hadn't seen him around until the first week of November. I suppose that's the trick of getting to "trophy" status, though, eh? Remaining unseen until all tags are filled or eaten? :)

I need to move..or win the lottery. I want to play in the woods like some of the other guys on here. What a great bunch of talent. Thanks for sharing your fun with the rest of us.

There was no rest for this guy! He was trying to group up his harem so that the 3 smaller bucks not pictured (all spikes or 2 points) wouldn't chase one down. :) He was so worried about the does, and the does were so worried about the smaller bucks, that we were able to get within 10 feet of this guy. Pretty fun.
