DNR Land-Use Survey (important)
« on: December 04, 2009, 04:10:41 PM »
Apparently no common citizens are being asked question or to take this survey, so if you are a WA resident and want to get in your 2 cents here is the letter from Ms. Shelly Short addressing this important issue that Mr. Goldmark sees fit to select certain members of our society to survey.

Dear Friends,

An urgent matter has come to my attention -- one that requires action on our part as concerned citizens and property owners.

The Department of Natural Resources, under the direction of the newly-elected Commissioner of Public Lands, Peter Goldmark, has embarked on a strategic planning survey that I believe has the potential to drastically change the way public lands are managed.

A survey has been created to possibly give DNR a "mandate" on how public lands are managed.  This survey, I believe, has been distributed to environment groups, state agencies, and conservation coalitions.  But I have to wonder if John and Jane Q. Public have been invited to participate?  Those individuals that rely upon our state's natural resources - and the ACCESS to those resources - for their livelihood, recreation and quality of life must be given the same opportunity to weigh-in on how these resources are to be managed.

In an effort to make sure our citizens' voices are heard, I urge you to click on this link and take a few moments to fill out the survey.  Your participation is vital.  We must balance out the expected liberal slant of the environmental special interest groups with the common-sense approach found in those of us who end up footing the bill in the end!

Thanks for being an involved citizenry.  And thanks for reading my e-newsletters.  It is an honor to serve you in Olympia.

Sincerely,

Shelly Short

Here is the link. I removed it from the letter because I did a poor job of including it.

I really hope that everyone here makes a statement.

I already know that some quad access has been shut down to one unit due to a DNR Enforcement Officere living and hunting in the unit.

My Job has been screwed since the day the f*#$%head was elected!!! :bash: >:( Not just recreation is at stake here...I used to log some DNR property...not anymore.....people need to be concerned about making a living, not the f*&%$#ing granola crunching, pot smoking, treehugging, sandle wearing, hippies. There needs to be a balance.Instead the legaslation closes every damn door until further notice. What a F*&^%$ing crock!I'm a 4 th generation logger, with no work and no work in the near future.....Lets wake up people and realize we can farm trees just like corn, wheat, etc.Or just close all the land up and tell everyone to stay home and build there new green homes out of 100% recycled materials.Go hike in a city park I guess,on paved trails???
Right is Right even if no one else is doing it,Wrong is Wrong even if everyone is doing it.
