Well, they just got done with the second hunt. Looks like Snowman Jr. is going to have a bird to get stuffed. The hunting has been rough to say the least. I'll let snowman get into the details. It's been a great few days Snowman and his son are great people and an asset to the hunting community. TDF will welcome them back anytime. Thanks to all who watched this thread and kept up with the support. It means a lot to us to know others feel the same as we do in regards to children hunting. We are looking forward to doing another "Kid Hunt" next year.

Well we made it home safe from our friends at TDF. Before we get to the story, I want to Thank You Riley, Corey and his wife Heather, Jeremy and Trevor for having us down and being Gracious Host's. You guys are a Great Asset to our Hunting Heritage an making it possible for youths to know that in your duck blinds that they are first an for most, making them comfortable an feeling that they count to in our Great Heritage of Water Fowler's. Riley listening to you call, well let's just say lucky your not a duck!! :chuckle: Along with Jeremy and Trevor. You guys taught me a lot about calling just listening to you. Aaron had a Great time and can't wait to hunt with you guys again. He didn't even sleep on the way home, he was still to excited about the adventure. 6 hours of driving an he couldn't keep quite and now won't stop practicing calling.  :chuckle: So again Thank You, I too had a Great time.

Okay here is the story of our first hour at Riley's house. Upon unloading the car an getting settled in, on a trip into the house I see a chicken walking around in the neighbors yard. So get in the house an asked Riley about the chicken, we heard it making all sorts of noise. Run outside to see my lab chasing down the chicken.... Well she caught it an ran pass Aaron and Riley straight to my hand delivers this chicken. Other than feathers being ruffed the chicken was unharmed. My lab did get punished, but it was rather kinda of funny watching it unfold so quick that you couldn't do anything about it.

Want to Thank You Corey for taking me out to try my hand at getting some yotes. We seen 2 with no good shots and heard a ton, but just didn't want to come to close. We hunted for them Thursday eve and did 2 set ups.

First mornings hunt started out by Riley and Trevor getting out to the blind about 2 am or so. We got there just before light an hopped into the boat for the ride out to where we would be hunting that morning. We get out to the blind and all the decoys are out an ready to go. Quiet a bit flying, but not a lot wanting to work into the decs. It also didn't help that some older gents set up too close an were shooting birds that were working our set. But we did manage to get 2 greenheads an 2 hens.

This morning hunt start with rain and some wind. Riley and Jeremy took us to a great little hole. Aaron managed to get himself a greenhead worth mounting. We ended up with a drake widgeon an 2 hens also.

Well a total of 8 birds. I'm not measuring success in what we shot. This trip was 110% successfull. Aaron got a bird to mount and had the time of his life hunting with our new friends and relaxing playing video games with Riley. All that matters is that he had a good time and was happy with the trip in a whole.

So again Thank You to you guys at TDF. The kid hunt was a success. Any kid would absolutely enjoy hunting with you guys.  :) Pics are coming shortly.
