question for you Coyote guys regarding calling

I have a 40 aqcre piece of property over on the wet side that is rolling pastures with a couple of big brushy draws.    I see a lot of coyotes out there and have taken a few but have never tried calling.  I would like to give it a shot and was wondering what the best type of call would be best for this time of year.  I have a dying rabbit type call but. have watched videos where they seem to use an assortment of calls depending on time of year and conditions.    Any suggestions?  I apologize if this topic has been hammered over and over as  I am not new to the site but new to this section.  Thanks.

Yeah it's about 3-3.5 hours from Orting.  I am up here in Lynden.  Property is about 3 miles from the Can. border.  I appreciate the offer, and if you ever get up this way, let me know.  I wouldn't mind  "picking  your brain" a bit your blacktail tactics.  They seem to be working quite well.

Do you have a barbwire fence next to your calling area?

That far north fawn distress is what I would use! and shake the fence a little.

  any number of distress sound would work.  the connection seems to be more primal then whats on the dinner plate each day.  not saying if theres a particular food source around that it wont work better, but its pretty well documented as far as i am concerned that the distress sound does not need to necisarrily be a targeted food species locally available.

  if you want to get a few calls cheap i suggest getting a hold of bearmanrick.  i picked up a  few of his production calls for a few dollars and was extremely impressed with the sounds.

Well i've been out a number of times with just a little $40 electronic call and i've had tons come on in. Make sure that when ya find a place to set up ya have a good view. Also, wait a couple to a few minutes before making the first call. Pause a couple minutes between each call. I live about 15 miles from the border over on the east side and they come running for the cottontail in distress

I use mouth calls, over here on the wet side I have had good success with cotton distress.  If it is in farm land I have also used pup distress and I have a real raspy call that I use for a domestic cat distress call.
