Yahoo! early x-mas present!
« on: December 10, 2009, 11:32:20 AM »
My wonderful wife just gave me my early x-mas present.  Keep the mind out of the gutter guy's, that present will come later. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  Here is a pic of it.  It's a bradley 6 rack.  I just got done with the break-in procedure and can't wait to start my first batch of Elk sausage and peporoni sticks.

I haven't got that Sausage stuffer yet Dogtuk that we talked about, but that might be under the tree.  Talk with ya all soon.  John

Just an FYI, but Northern Tool has a 15lb Stuffer on sale for $200 right now.  Don't know what quality it is but that's a heck of a price for a stuffer that big.  I think it's stainless too.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Thanks Huey, I think I'm going to join that forum.  That looks like a good one for smoking.  NRA4life, funny you should mention that one.  I was looking at the 5 lb stuffer at Northern tool and I think that is the one that is under our tree right now.  My wife saw me looking at them and it is on sale for 79.00 right now.

Thanks again guy's and talk with you soon.  John

I have the 4 rack digital smoker from Bradely and love it, set the timers and walk away, don't have to keep filling the chip pan, fill the stack up and you are good to go. Then only downside is that the water bowl in the bottom has to be kept at least half full while the smoker is going.

Other than that I have had no complaints with it.

washelkhuntr, you may be on to something there.  Beer and German sausage party.  Now that sounds tasty ;)

I'm still new to this smoker obviously, but what impressed me was that I broke it in as per the instructions the day after I got it home.  It was 8 degrees outside and I fired it up and set it at 150 degrees like the directions indicated and it maintained that temperature until I turned it off 1 1/2 hours later.  I'll let you know how my maiden voyage goes TEX-X.  Talk with ya all soon.  John
