Brass for reloading?

I have been saving all of my factory brass for my .204R, Hornady, federal and winchester.My ? is when i decide to start reloading can i use all differnt factory brass (once fired) fom different companies or do i have to use just one specific brand when i start reloading?

All your brass will work just fine- I have not experimented enough to know if the same hand loads will shoot different out of the different manufacturer brass but I doubt it would make any difference.

you can use mixed head stamps "diffrent brands" no problem most very avid reloaders tend to only use one brand in a group of loads most uniform that way but i run mixed head stamps threw my AR-15 without any side affects as long as they are trimmed to length you should be o.k. hope this helps

you can use any brand of brass. of those 3 the federal will be the best choice, winchester is ok but its a bit softer. iv never used hornady. norma or lapua makes the best brass imho. the softer the brass the more it stretches thus shorter case life and more trimming cause its gonna get longer each time you size it. be sure to neck turn em for best results (only needs to be done once).

You can use all of them, but your results may not be that great. Since different brands of brass can have different internal volumes, a load that works great in Rem brass may not shoot well in Win brass. There are also potential pressure problems when changing brands of brass. Having said that, if I were just looking to load up some plinking ammo I'd just load whatever brass had on hand. Just keep your loads on the mild side to play it safe. Andrew

you will notice slight differences in your groups. But more than anything you just need to keep track of the number of times you have shot them. The most difference I have found is new brass compared to once fired brass. Keep them all separate from eachother by the amount of times you have fired them.

thats a pretty broad statement. depends what your definition of accuracy is? like carp said, i only use brass from the same manufacturer and i weigh out each piece and separate em in to 3 groups (light, medium and heavy) then mark em and i don't load em together, i also keep track of how many times each piece is fired. i wont load a once fired piece with one thats been shot 5 times. it does make a difference when your shooting br stuff and looking for groups in the 0's and 1's. i do the same with my hunting stuff but its not necessary, but again my hunting stuff shoots half inch or or so. sooooooooo   that being said there's about 62 things you should focus on before brass if your looking for the best possible performance, you'll be fine to use what you got.
