Looking for a short, bolt action .308

Just took my wife to the range last saturday with her brand new Marlin XS7.  It is a sweet shooting gun.  Cabella's was having a sale and we picked it up for $249+ scope, out the door for $360.  My wife is a short person, 5'4'' and I did like others have suggested, I had her hold the Marlin and the Remington.  The action on the marlin felt much smoother than the Remington, and the marlin has a better trigger.  With that said, either one should be a good starting point.  The most important thing is to get the gun that feels good in your hands and at your shoulder.  I would stay away from auction sites untill you know exactly what you want.

770 :pee:. please dont get that rifle. I dont think it even feels right. Know a couple of people that impulsed that. not good. If you want to keep you price range than get the marlin. when its voted top 10 then i guess there is a good reason. i didnt read the whole thread so hopefully you didnt get the 770. If you did good luck with it.

Yeah, What the hell!  She hasn't been on line since the first week of the month.  I wanna know what she ended up buying.
