68 and a half pint sturgeon in 2 days !!!
« on: March 01, 2010, 08:45:21 AM »
OK finally have had enough sleep for me to think about what I'm typing

(I am going to post this and link the other 2 threads here so there may be some duplicate photos so bear with me on that, there are just soooooo many !!)

For those of you that know me and my luck this is going to BLOW YOU AWAY !!! I actually caught my first keeper sturgeon this weekend  :IBCOOL: Thanks to Fishcrazy my name can now be listed in the book of records for snapping the longest running sturgeon skunk fest in the history of fishing !!

It was a weekend that any fisherman dreams of, first off we hooked up with Fiscrazy and wandered around the river for a couple hours looking for "The spot" finally found it and he dialed us right into the mother load, We hooked and missed and landed fish after fish after fish like the days you hear of from the old timers "Back when I was your age we caught................" You know what I'm talking about, and it was for real !!

The couple that went with us (My buddy and his wife) are now shopping for a boat, Jay said he was going to call up his boss and tell him............... well I'm not going to repeat what he said but it was along the lines of "Go f@%$ Y@%rself I ain't coming to work today, I have work to do on my boat" So I think Fishcrazy released the monster, on the ride home all he could talk about is what he is going to do to get ready for some more sturgeon action !!!

I have the privilege of going with him (Fishcrazy) again on Friday and I have no doubt that it's gonna be a great day of fishing, He really knows his stuff and one of the best people I have had the opportunity to fish with, so if you have a chance to go with him DON"T DO IT, cause that will leave an open seat for ME Hehe !!!  :P

On Saturday Jay and I hooked up with Cohoho and (he knows my luck better then anyone else) and headed up river to a gorgeous area above Bonniville for some catch and release action, and I am an IDIOT and I'll explain why later !!

I was thinking that Friday was a fluke with me actually hooking into some fish but boy was I wrong, he took us to a spot where I can't tell you so don't ask  :P and we farted around a bit trying to locate a fish or 40 and he did it, 41 1/2 to be exact  :yike: I mean it was absolutely picture perfect and awesome at the same time. I usually have nothing but foul things to say about my days on the water because I am used to fishing long and hard and not catching squat but Saturday was unbelievable is the best way I can describe it, trying to stay under the canopy as to not get sunburned, no need for a jacket (at the end of February) breaking into a sweat catching fish after fish after fish.

It was no doubt the very best weekend of fishing I have had in as long as I can remember, hanging out with my buddy Jay and Fishcrazy and Cohoho and getting 69 fish to the boat (27 on Friday 42 on Saturday with 14 or so keeper sized) was something that I never dreamed could be accomplished and these two made it look easy !! so once again if you ever get the chance to hook up with either one of these guys to go fishin, They are the real deal !!!

Thank You very much for an incredible weekend you guys !!!

And I'm sorry about the parking ticket Mike, (my fault) but that Mfer was a piece of crap if you ask me !!!  :bash:

Pics are in no particular order !!!

Congrats.  Good spot.  Been producing for us as well.  Been pretty hush hush this year on the boards.  Probably a good thing.  Already a pile of boats hitting it:)
