Windex and alchol cleaning solution
<< < (2/2)
MikeWalking:
Old tooth brush, oil, squirt bottle of Coleman and my Bore Snake.

Think I'll give the plain alcohol a try next time I shoot a couple boxes.
actionshooter:
I tried it years ago and I don't remember anything special.
spin05:
I use to use soft scrub back in the day....
Bscman:
I've used them (separately) to nuetralize the left overs from corrosive ammo/primers in surplus ammo. Seemed to work well, as I never had a problem with corrosion/rust in the bores of these old rifles.
lee:

Hi,
The Windex works well to neutralize the corrosive salts that are by-products of the burnt propellant and caps. You still need to apply an oil to the bore though for long term storage.
