Stupid question because of my stupid decision...
carpsniperg2:
yes, i think you can because it does not matter if you put in for special apps. because you can switch your tag up till the first day of the first season. i have a friend that puts in for rifle elk tags and if he does not draw he switches to archery to hunt general season. so i would think you would be fine

If he is able to do that he must have a friend at the WDFW.
carpsniperg2:
anyone can change there tag bobcat i have done it before as well, i have changed from modern firearm to muzzle before the early muzzle season the first year i ever hunted muzzle got a new muzzle and decided i wanted to hunt that year and not wait tell next year to hunt with it. and no friends at fish and wildlife or we would have a moose tag and sheep tag and goat tag and we have not drawn crap. so i don't know what you are talking about i know first hand.
bobcat:
I've heard of others trying to change tags before the season starts and they were turned down because they had applied for special permits. Just what I've heard. If tags really can be exchanged there would be a lot of people buying eastside elk tags and applying for eastside permits, then if nothing is drawn, switching over to a westside tag.
carpsniperg2:
yes you got it  that is right and there is people that do it every year. i have not changed a tag in a long time but i know people that still do it. so i don't know why they would not be able to :dunno:
